We have a separate document called our Curriculum Intent which goes into detail about what we will be teaching your children during their time in the Den. It will show the progress from when they arrive from the Nest (or outside of nursery) to when they are ready to move into the Woodland room.

Within the Early Years Foundation Stage there are three prime areas of learning: Personal, social and emotional development, communication and language and physical development. These prime areas are identifies as being ‘particularly crucial for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and for building their capacity to learn, form relationships and thrive (DfE, pg.4 2012). As your child moves into/begins in the two-year-old room these skills will be developing rapidly and will be the primary focus for practitioners working with you child. In addition to the prime areas there is also literacy, maths, understanding the world and expressive arts and design. Defined areas of learning and continuous provision allow you child the freedom to explore and investigate these areas of learning.
