Meet the team

Having spent 10 years as a Human rights lawyer, I had begun to look for an alternative to the long hours and high pressured environment.  My three children had attended the old Croft Corner and I learnt that Croft Corner was going to close due to the retirement of the old owners, I decided to take on and allow Croft Corner to enter a new part of its history.

I had been inspired by a visit to a Forest School Nursery and knew that this is where the nursery’s future lay.  I have loved every minute of my time since becoming the owner . I have also loved studying again and I am now an Early Years Teacher and qualified Forest School Leader.

When I am not at Croft Corner, I love nothing more to be outdoors with my family.

My role in nursery is the Nursery manager.

I have worked in child care for over fifteen years and have been the assistant manager since 2019 recently becoming nursery manager.

I have gained a wide knowledge of child development and have had many experiences supporting and working with children and families along the way. I am currently studying for the Level 3 Senco qulaification. I am also a Forest School Practitioner. I have worked with all age groups under five years and have a keen passion for the under twos. I love to see children make links in their learning and figuring out the world at their own pace.

My favourite woodland animals are owls and hedgehogs! (I can’t pick just one!)

I love all seasons for all of them have amazing qualities and offer such different experiences! I would pick Summer as my favourite for days by the sea and long warm evenings to make the most of my inner night owl!

I have been working at Croft Corner since May 2024 and now the room leader for the Den and Deputy Manager. I am also the SendCo. I am also First aid trained.

I’ve joined Croft Corner in June 2025 and I love being part of a Forest School Nursery, because every day is different. I have of over 13 years experience working in Early Years, I have gained wide knowledge and understanding working with children and families. Watching children learn through play, explore the natural world, and build confidence outdoors is incredibly rewarding. I enjoy being part of an environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and a love of nature.
I am passionate about child psychology and understanding how children learn and develop. I find it rewarding to support their individual learning journeys. Understanding child development helps me create engaging environments that nurture confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

I absolutely love Autumn; seeing the change in the leaves and enjoying an autumn walk with my dogs! My favourite woodland animals are a red squirrel and a fox.

I am the nursery cook and prepare nutritious, freshly made hot meals and snacks for the children.

I have a level 3 child care qualification and also have Level 2 Food Hygiene. I really enjoy seeing the children enjoy the food and try new foods. I also love how happy and proud they get when they learn something new.

My favourite woodland animal is a deer and my favourite season is summer because I love going to the park!

Before joining Croft Corner in March 2016 I worked at another nursery for 7 years, where I gained my level 3 qualification through an apprenticeship. 

I like working at Croft Corner because of the outdoor experience and I love working with children as I can help give them the best start in life! In the toddler room I enjoy watching the children's individual personalities grow.

My favourite season is summer because I like it to be warm and my favourite woodland animal is a hedgehog because they are very cute!

I have been a qualified early years practitioner since September 2012. I joined the Croft Corner team in April 2017 where I am based in the preschool room. 

I love seeing the children grow as individuals, supporting their learning and development and encouraging them to achieve.

My favourite woodland animal is a rabbit, and my favourite season is summer! 

I am an Early Years Practioner in the Den - 2-3s room. I started at Croft Corner in June 2015 after working for 4 1/2 years at another nursery in Sheffield where I completed my Level 3 childcare qualification and first aid.

I am the Sustainability and Climate action Lead at Croft Corner.

I love giving the children opportunties to get messy and explore with their senses. I love making the relationships with the children and developing a special bond with them.

My favourite woodland animal is an owl.

I have worked at Croft Corner October 2018 . Having undertaken my the Forest School Leader qualification, I know run the Forest School sessions in Ecclesall woods for the over 3s.

When I am not in the woods, I love spending time in the nursery garden growing vegetables and fruit with the children.

I was first introduced to nursery nursing in 1993 during my work experience from school. When I left school I went to work in another nursery in Sheffield and this led me to gain my Level 3 Childcare qualification. I stayed there for six years until I left Sheffield for Norwich. On my return to Sheffield in 2000, I began a 6 weeks temporary position at Croft Corner and here I am now(!) still enjoying my time at Croft Corner.

At nursery I like to get messy in the creative area and love the challenge of thinking up new activities that will fit in with the current interests of the children.

My favourite woodland animal is a squirrel because they are playful and fun. My favourite season is the summer because I like to go for picnics and have barbecues.

Working in the Early Years is so incredibly rewarding because I get to witness the children’s transformation right before my eyes and guide them through such an important life transition. My favourite season is spring, as watching the trees come back to life and the flowers bloom always reminds me how beautiful our world is.
As for my favourite woodland animal, it has to be the squirrel! I love how clever they are at hiding food for winter. As they often forget where they buried their nuts, they accidentally plant thousands of new trees every year—they are nature's little gardeners!

I enjoy working with children because every day is different and they never fail to amaze me and make me smile.

My favourite season is Spring because I like seeing the world coming back to life after winter.
My favourite woodland animal is a squirrel because they're always busy and look like they're having a good time!

I work in the den alongside my colleagues who have taught me many new skills i have developed through my Level 2 apprenticeship which I have successfully completed.

I love watching the children grow and develop new skills and expand their knowledge learning new things. I love to get messy in the creative area letting the children use their senses with different materials. My favourite woodland animal is a rabbit and my favourite season is summer.

I love working with children because every day is different as every child is different, they have their own personalities and interests, and so you get to experience new things every day with them.
My favourite season is spring because thats when the flowers and animals start to come out after a long winter. I studied Early years at university to Level 5 and I am currently undertaking a level 3 Early Years apprenticeship to develop my early years knowledge.
My favourite woodland animal would be a fox, I see them many mornings on my way to work!

I enjoy working with the babies because everyday is a new day, we get to watch them grow from a young age and we see the beginning and how far they have come when they leave the nursery.

My favourite season is winter because I enjoy the snow and everyone is happy around christmas time! My favourite woodland animal is a hedgehog.

I started my level 3 apprenticeship with the nursery in April 2025, I enjoy watching the children grow and develop their confidence and personalities. I love seeing what games they are going to create next and seeing them include each other (even sometimes me!).

I love spring and seeing all the changes that come with it, my favourite woodland animal is a robin. 

I am currently doing my Early Years Educator Level 3 apprenticeship with Croft Corner.

I have been here since the middle of April 2026 and I am absolutely loving working in the Woodland room along side a perfect team! I adore working with the children because I purely enjoy seeing them grow into their own individual selves and to watch them achieve.

My favourite woodland animal is a Robin because they are so unique and have a beautiful meaning to life ! My favourite season has to be winter because I absolutely love Christmas with all the different decorations !

The thing I enjoy most about my job is the unpredictability of each day, along with learning new things about the world from the children I look after.

My favourite season is Autumn as I'm a big fan of bonfire night and Halloween!

My favourite woodland animal is a squirrel - especially the brave ones in Graves Park!
